Who is Rev. Darryl R. Williams?D. Williams
Reverend Darryl R. Williams, the son of the late Vernon Williams, Sr. and Frances Reid Williams, was born on July 23, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, the fourth child out of 7 Children He is a product of the Chicago Public School System graduating from Dunbar High School in 1979. In 1983, he graduated from Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio majoring in Pre-Theology. Growing up as a preacher's grandson and a member of Grant Memorial AME Church in Chicago, IL., it was no question that he was called to be a preacher.

In 1983, he enrolled at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL. There he established himself not only as a good student, but one loved by his peers as evidenced in them choosing him to be the Baccalaureate speaker for their 1986 graduating class. After graduating Rev. Williams was appointed pastor of the Alexander A.M.E. Church in Evansville, IN. He rendered excellent service to that congregation making thousands of dollars worth of improvements.

In 1990, he was appointed pastor of the Vernon Chapel A.M.E. Church in Flint, MI. There he led that congregation in a Two Million Dollars expansion/renovation. Many souls were saved and many new ministries were started. He was very active in the civic and social affairs of the Flint Community. He served ably on the Human Relations Commission and the Chamber of Commerce just to name a few. In those 14 years in Michigan, he also served within his denomination. He was Secretary of the board of Examiners of the Michigan Conference of the AME Church in 1998-2004 and the Director of Evangelism from 2000 – 2004.

In November of 2004, Bishop Philip Cousin, Sr. appointed Rev. Williams to St. Mark AME Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he has lead the congregation to a completion of an elevator project/bathroom renovation, the development of the Atkinson Avenue Community Development Corpation, the purchase of a Hammond B3 Organ, a christian book store, and a in-house security ministry.  Rev. Williams currently serves on the Chicago Conference Board of Trustee for Camp Baber, Chicago Conference Finance Commitee, and the Chicago Conference Board of Examiners for 2nd Year Studies. He also sits on the board of directors for New Concept Development in city of Milwaukee.

Rev. Williams is married to Laurelyn Willette Peoples. Laurelyn is currently a 5th Grade Teacher at Garden Homes Elementary School in the Milwaukee Public school system. They have one daughter; 18 year old Christina Noelle Williams, who is a senior at Rufus King High School.
